Don't laugh at me please..I'm new to ac3d.

How do I mirror an object say about the z-axis?

I have the right landing gear finished. I want to mirror it for the left side.

Do I have to duplicate then manually rotate stuff, or is there a mirrror function or something similar?

Hi Patrick,

3.7 has a mirror function but until that's available can use following:

1) duplicate the object/s (if you don't want it to move, edit->copy then edit->paste)
2) press Flip x/y/z on the tool bar to mirror the geometry
3) select surface->flip-normals

then drag the new, mirrored geometry away. (hold control down when dragging to constrin movement to one direction)

Thanks Andy !!!

you just saved me some headaches :o)

photos of my project are up at www.seaviper.com.

I am just coming up to speed on ac3d 3.6 . Spent all weekend putting redhat9 on two servers and scrapping windoze on my main machine. I am now working in redhat9 but will have to go back to windoze for java3d audio support in my sim. !@#$% . The Blackdown port of java3d is apparently not happy with my hardware or driver environment for linux.

I'll probably have to download the windows version of ac3d again.

Keep up the good work.!!!
