I was wondering is their a easy way to manipulate object other than editing the vertex points ? An example if I had a pipe how could I bend the pipe to say a 40 degree angle, and say on the other side make the diamter smaller how could I do that ?

Also say I made a track but the ends aren't connected when I get to the point I want to make them connected and complete the (race)track. I apologize if this is in the manual I got to reading it and at page 13 I got antsy and had to try things out.

Thanks in advance

To make a pipe, you could use Object->revolve (revolve an ellipse). or you could use the Tools->replicator to extrude a shape.

Something which is fun to try with AC3D 4 is to use subdivision to create 'bendy' pipes. e.g.

http://www.ac3d.org/ac3d/forumpics/pipe.gif

This is a rectangle that was extruded a few times, then the subdivision level was set to 2, from Tools->object-property-editor.

To change the diameter - resize one of the 'sections' of vertices.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean about making the track.

Take that tube in the picture you made and make one end half as big. Seperate thing can you make a donut of that pipe as well ? That was the whole track thing, I'll think up better examples next time.

What I was trying to say initially is if that pipe of yours was straight but then you later wanted to curve it how could you ?

Also thanks for the subdivision lesson :D

To bend the pipe, you'd select the vertices in one section and move them.

To make a donut - make an ellipse and Object-revolve.

Andy thanks for your patience with me I know I'm asking all the wrong questions what I meant is this; How to modify a existing model were you would want to add something to it, connect 2 different parts, take away other than editing vertices. I feel I got my answer sorry for the confusion
