textures

i took the advice of someone and did the tutorials featured on this site...however...when i tried to put the texture onto the car initially it would not go on there...anyone have any ideas as to why it won't place onto the car?

okay scratch the last comment i figured that out...but now i have a new question...in the video where the textures are being applied to the "rover" how does he choose stuff in the 3d...when he is doing the top of the car...

shift and ctrl while click on the polys you want. sometimes together, sometimes not.
