I'm running the linux versin of 4.0.

Ok, maybe 'm doing this wrong, but I'm not doing anything fancy

I make a sphere, I call it "a"

I make a cylinder, I call it "b"

With nothing selected, I go to tools -> boolean operation

In "Operand a" I put in "a"
In "Operand b" I put in "b"

I select "Substraction (A-B)"

Clicking OK causes the whole program to crash

This is just an example. I can't do any operations whatsoever.

ADDUNDUM:

It's CSG v 1.0

This obviously shouldn't happen, but...

After entering 'a' press the 'set' button.

After entering 'b' press the 'set' button.

Try your operation.

Additionally, you can select an operand in the AC3D interface and press 'set' for either A or B and it should work.

Let me know how that goes,

Note: the way you are doing it is /supposed/ to work, but I haven't used the plugin that way for a long time...
