How far does it get? Does anything get printed in the console window?

Are you running Norton or some other system protection program?

It could help if you launched ac3d from a command prompt - any console messages would then be left behind once the program exits.

You can do this by openning a command prompt and navigating to the directory in which you installed AC3D, then enter: ac3d

It will launch, you'll get your error message, and hopefully some indication if how far the program got will be provided in the console window.

That said, the main reason AC3D would fail to load is if your video drivers have bugs. You might see if there is an updated driver for your card under Windows98. Unfortunately, that OS is becoming more and more out of date.

Good luck,
