In poy-ray all of the surfaces are shown 2-sided.
It seems this is independent of the setting ( 1S/2S ) in AC3D.
Is this a bug or feature ?

I think that's just the nature of Pov-Ray. It's not a modeler in the sense of what we're used to. I believe it uses a different way of representing objects and surfaces. Pov-Ray doesn't create a mesh like what a typical 3D program would, instead it uses a mathematical equation to build shapes and what-not.
There may be a way to add additional info to your object's property box to achieve the effect of a one sided surface, but I don't know how to do that. The only thing I know to do is insert the no_image ( not sure about code ) code, but that would hide everything except for it's shadows.
I could be wrong on this so if anyone else is a Pov guru, feel free to correct and make me feel foolish.
