Im having trouble exporting as 3DS and .X

When I export as 3DS it seems to loose the texture repeat/offset.

When I export as .X objects are placed in the wrong place.

..Im using 3D explorer to view the models....

When I load the 3DS file back into AC3D - the texture repeat/offset has gone ( in the viewing program it sets the repeat to 8)

Any ideas ? I can supply the original .AC file if required.

I don't know exactly what is causing the problem, but as you know the 3DS format's "Y" and "Z" axis are flipped. Maybe if you checked the "flip Y and Z axis for 3DS" radio button in your properties box may help.

There are some attributes that don't map from AC3D to other formats and vice-versa. Texture repeating is (currently) an attribute of AC3D objects, whereas in 3DS, it's part of a material.

I have written the X file export plugin for AC3D and there should not be any problems with the current version 1.6 .

Could you send me the AC3D file and the exported X file of the model which makes trouble ?

You can send it directly to my email address : Frank_Meinert<at>t-online.de

I will test it and send you a new version of the export plugin.
