Flatline

In the 3d window, I can no longer select the face my cursor is on, but instead selects an adjacent face. I have reinstalled everything from card drivers to DX9 to AC3D and no luck.
Please advise.

I experienced a similar problem. I noticed that when I want to select a surface, object or vertex the highlighted item is not the one selected but the one adjacent to it!
... I remarked that this problem occur only when I turn on the antialias option called "AA 3D", found at the bottom of AC3D window.
I suspect my super video card - ATI Rage 128 - to be the source of the problem. This card do have some antialias built-in, based on the driver interface. Helas it doesn't seem compatible with AC3D.
My question: Do you know a video card that is compatible with AA 3D?
... Yes, I know! It's about a year now that I posted a message asking advices on video card selection... I still am at the same point as before. I am unsure which model. I have a strong preference for the ATI but Nvdia looks good with OpenGL. Since that post, I could found some good cards not too expensive on eBay or at discount computer stores. I expect further drop in price by September, October of this year. Once price drop further down... and once dust settle, I wiil have to make my final choice... and then I will proceed with the purchase! ... It took me only 2 days to shop for a brand new car and purchase one of the 5 model investigated! I have my own sins I must admit!
Thanks
I presently look at:
ATI 9600Pro, 9700Pro or 9800Pro
or
Nvdia FX5700, FX5900XT or FX5900Ultra
and will pickup the best of those baby if I can grab one for free or up to $100 US... of course time play in my favor and I hope to get the 9600Pro for 100US or less by October, November! But would prefer to purchase a 9800pro for the maximum bid... with a little more time!
Thanks again,
Steven

When asked about problems selecting surfaces, Andy replied:
See PM
I feel like an outsider to have to ask but what is the "PM"?
I am having a terrible time creating my objects because it is so hard to select surfaces. Perhaps the PM will help?
Thanks
Peter Sharpe
PS I am using AC3D 4.0.8

PM is private message.
Either Andy will send you a private message, or you can send him one. He's pretty responsive, and will help you work this out.
