Hello to all

I am very new to ac3d
my first project: a porsche 917 lemans winner 1970.
It still needs a lot of work.
A question:
How do I solve the problem of a object with darker surfaces without merging it with other objects and then flipping triangles (normals are in the right position)? You can see well on the first screenshot.
another thing: ac3d is great !! :D
Thanks for helping

Looks good, even moreso for a first project.

If flipping the surface gets rid of the "darker" surfaces, then I'm afraid the only way to fix this, to my knowledge, is to select each surface and flip it manually. Is this what you mean?

I've had similar instances with models in the game I create mods for. Sometimes you can get lucky and fix the darker surfaces by selecting them and adjusting the vertex order. Sometimes you have to hit the button several times to get the image to look right.

I tried some things, to bring this dark surfaces away. It is quite funny.
For me it worked with merging both objects, then flipping triangles and then flipping them back into their original position. I will post a screenshot..

Cool car, my son thinks so too. I wish I was that "new" to AC3D. My things are still more basic.
