Hi,
when I load a background image into front view (bmp format) it's upside down.
Next, when I select something, the backimage get's hidden (black). If I unselect it shows up again.
Thank you,
Gernot

can you reproduce it, or is it my computer?

Hi Gernot,
I personally haven't run into this issue --- one thing I'd check with the background image blacking out is whether you have the latest video drivers?
Not much, but hope it helps.

latest drivers. ATI card. The problem exists, when I select something and move it -> the background image is not drawn during this time. Very annoying. Andy - could you take a look at this?
Thank you,

Hi, I'm new user and I'm trying AC3D.
I'm running it on two PCs, with different results :?
On newer system all runs OK under Win 2000 Pro; on older system under W98 I randomly get the same problem Gernot reported, plus another strange behaviour (it seems randomly occurring too): when I start the program, sometimes I see the four views windows as per default configuration, sometimes I see only the two bottom windows, while the top windows are transparent to the desktop.
More, if I load a model and click on working windows, I can see a them switching to another view (for instance: left bottom window usually toggle between Front and Top views, while right window switches from Side to 3D views and vice versa).
Older (very) PC specs are:
Pentium II 233MHZ
64MB RAm
HD free space 3 GB
Video card: Radeon VIVO 64MB (7000 GPU) *
Windows 98 SE
* I tried to get most updated drivers for this card, but I didn't see any improvement :(

Marco - older graphics cards had problems with multiple OpenGL contexts (I personnaly think this was due to the only testing being via Doom :) )
Try and get more recent drivers. If you can't, a more recent ($20? e.g. GeForce 4?) graphics card might be a good option.
I haven't been able to reproduce Gernots problem.

I use Mesa now, and it works. Must be my driver. I guess it's a multiple GLcontexts issue. Is there a way of making it use _one_ glcontext for all?

AC3D must use multiple contexts. Each view is a separate window and can have different settings (e.g. orth wireframe 3D full etc), and you can create extra views from Views->New-View.
