I mostly use AC3D for making cars for racing sims, or aircraft for flight sims.
Here is a look at the current batch of racers, all are medium poly models for sims rather than ultra high for renders. No wheels, as they are made seperate and placed by the game engine.

Firstly a Ford Escort Mk1.

Next, the 1967 BMW 2002. Headlights need to be remade.

then the Alfa Romeo GTA 1600.

and lastly the one thats in work at present, Jaguar Mk II

Most of these are under 5K polys. I can turn out one of these fairly simple shells in a couple of days. They look good in the game and render fast, keeping frame rates high.

AC3D can export files for GT legends if you want to model for that game.

Is that via a plug in? I didnt know what format they (GT L) used. Didnt know it had been released, for that matter.

GTL uses .X format and there is a viewer and a few other things needed to get stuff in game. There is a few models you can download if you do searchs.

they are for a mod of the NASCAR Heat game - the game engine of which was designed around a road racing sim called viper racing so as it turns out, road racing mods work great, not just NASCAR oval type racing.
