There is a Mac problem with the latest Quicktime upgrade 7.0.4 and importing X-Plane objects. AC3D crashes on startup.
The solution is to get the 7.0.1 re-installer from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
Then if you wish you can also download the 7.0.3 update to bring Quicktime back to where it was before the latest update.
Then wait til either Andy or Ben discover what's happening or Apple releases 7.0.5 which hopefully will not crash AC3D

I too have a similar problem with OSX10.4.4 and QT 7.0.4: AC3D crashes EXPORTING xPlane obj. files. But your solution does not work: the QT 7.0.1 reinstaller does not recognize QT 7.0.4, it only works with the 7.0.3 version.
So, only Andy or Ben can help.

Hi Paolo,
Are you sure that you got a "re-installer" instead of an "upgrader"
I am now back to QT 7.0.3
You might have got the wrong one. I do that all the time :)
Keep us posted.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear . .
Firstly, Ben Supnik is aware of this problem and is probably fixing it as I type.
Second, There are quite a few "upgraders" with a couple of "re-installers" in the download list on the Apple site. It might be worth having a look at that list again.
I applied the re-installer for 7.0.1 and after a re-boot used the 7.0.3 upgrader.
Worked OK and now can import OBJ's again.
I also emailed Andy.
I'm sure this will be fixed soon.

The reinstaller 701-703 does not work with QT704 already installed. I've found QT reinstaller 701 to 704 and everything is OK again. This reinstaller is here:

7.0.1 to 7.0.4 . . .? Isn't 7.0.4 the problem?
I went for . . . .
(1) 7.04 to 7.01 (using an "un-installer")
(2) 7.0.1 to 7.0.3
In any case, glad you have everything working again.
Hopefully QT 7.0.5 will be OK.
