load texture letters

sigh,,, i cant figure out and didnt work. i type the letter is (U.)from microsoft works word processor. i did load texture and not show letter U but background was fine. i dont understand why letter didnt show on or size is too small for letters? i dont want letter too big. first surface and then object and load texture.
