I would like to propose a Wiki AC3D Parts Libary - to provide a method for Sharing, Uploading and Downloading user created AC3D parts. I have created an experimental version at:

http://www.ebcon.com/ac3dparts/

Several example parts have already been added for your immediate use - more to come.

This experimental wiki is not complete, more (upload) documentation is needed - it is a start, to see if this type of thing is useful. I will run this wiki for several weeks and then determine its fate.

A wiki, by its nature, allows for user contributions and updates via your normal web browser - see: http://www.Wikipedia.org/wiki/wiki/ . SPAM and offensive content is avoided via an upload login and permission process.

Download of a library part can invoke AC3D on your computer with the part preloaded.

Upload of a part is a two step process, but doable with a little work - more documentation will be added.

This is an adaption of an existing wiki technology, other library methods are in use and others could be tried.

Contributors should keep in mind that on a wiki, uploaded parts become public domain and a matter of public record, this should not be a problem with small parts - authors can still be given recognition via the text.

I like the idea of clicking on an "icon" or "thumbnail" and immediately edit or saving the AC3D results - this wiki library provides that ability.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks to coldby there are now 34 AC3D Parts available in the Library for immediate inclusion in you AC3D designs - the "*.ac" files are provided, just click to download.

This free AC3D Library Resource is open for all to use and contribute, categories will be expanded as new parts are contributed.

Check it out at:

Thanks,
