Thank you Andy and all. I appreciate all your efforts. AC3D IS the greatest 3dsoftware there is. Hands down.

Just downloaded the new version aswell.

Is it possible that it has a bug with selecting vertexes ? because in the new version, when i click on a single vertex, the program seems to "randomly" select multiple other vertexes.

i have select-through off, and never had that issue before in the 6.4 version.

This can happen if you have your graphics card set to antialias - ensure it is set to 'let the application decide' or similar.

Downloading the linux version I could not find the OGRE exporter. I'm quite sure it was present in the Windows edition. Are there any prerequsites I need ?

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and OGRE 1.6.2.

Eirik

I downloaded "ac3dmac6528.tgz" for my MacBook running with MacOSX 10.4.11.
But it isn't loadable. Does anyone see what problems there is ? Previous version 6.2.05 is well loadable. Thanks in advance.

We are working on a fix for the Mac version. It has been reported that it doesn't work on some machines.

Please ensure you uncompress it with the system standard software and not an OpenSource equivalent.

We'll post the solution here as soon as we have it.

AC3D 6.5 has now been fixed to also work under Mac OS X 10.4.

If you are running Mac OS X 10.4 or using Mac with a PowerPC processor, you should update to this version. (PowerPC users also benefit from working Greeble, Lightwave and UVMap plugins which were previously Intel only).

If you are running Mac OS X 10.5 on Intel, there's no real need to download AC3D again.

Download it from: www.inivis.com/downloads.html (http://www.inivis.com/downloads.html)

Thanks to all those who helped testing and debugging the OS X 10.4 problem.

Hi,
I have just installed this version of AC3D onto my computer, which has Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed on it. After installing, and trying to start the program, an error message saying "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

I have tried reinstalling, rebooting, uninstalling then installing, and have searched online for help on this with no luck. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Also, I just installed the 6.4 version, and that works on my computer, but the 6.5 (newest) version does not.

Hello Andy, thank you so much. It is smoothly loaded. Great. If you have any plan to translate every menu and interface to Japanese, I think I can help.

Windows XP and getting the same error

C:\Program Files\AC3D 6.5.28\ac3d.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Have reinstalled, restarted, etc, and still same issue.

..suggestions??

Andy;

I'm saddled with RHEL5 for the forseeable future. Is there any chance of a recompile of 6.5 for compatability with rh5 of fedora core 6.

Version 6.4.30 works well.

Thanks

Andy, I purchased AC3D version 6.2.05 in October of 2008 and tried to upgrade to version 6.5.28. After upgrading, quitting and restarting I still have the 6.2.05 version.
This is what I did: >started ac3d>picked Help>put my license key in the Enter-license-key box> picked Return. Quit ac3d and then started ac3d. Picked AC3D>About AC3D...says I still have version 6.2.05. I'm pretty sure this is a free upgrade for me, am I doing something wrong? Thanks Andy

It's probably an error with a shortcut - perhaps you installed both versions in the same place?

It's probably best to uninstall both and then install the latest.

I'm in the same boat as Gary E Sanders. I'm running Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 and AC3D 6.5.28 won't start. It complains at me with:

/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version 'GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by ac3d)

I have all of the libstdc++ compatibility RPMs installed. Is there something I'm missing?

If I'm not missing anything, can we get a recompiled version that works with the rhel5 libraries?
