Also, if you don't want to have to manually type in all the code to set up the camera angle and lighting, you can export a model to another file type (.obj is my personal favorite) and open it in a program such as PoseRay or Kerkythea where you can manipulate the model directly and enter lights. The nice thing about that is that you can see what you're going to get in the render. When you're done manipulating the model, you can export to POVRay or Moray (I prefer POVRay myself). Once you've done that, you can still enter code in the renderer because the file is exported as scene, material, setup, and object code files.
