Part of your problem, I think, is your explanation. Also, if it's true that you've never used a 3D program before, I know from painful experience that not being solid on the core concepts of 3D modeling makes all the difference!

I have no idea what it is you're really trying to do, in either AC3D or in terms of game terrain production. And I'm fairly comfortable with both subjects.

Texturing in AC3D is the easiest you'll find anywhere, and that certainly is the case compared to Blender. Blender is at least 3x more "confusing and convuluted" an interface than AC3D (which actually, isn't very confusing at all, provided you understand the key 3D modeling concepts).
