I agree, ac3d automatically triangulates quads, even if we dont see.
That automatical triangulation isnt always the best
so its better to do it manually. but this should only bother u in case u are modeling something lowpoly. Subdivide means highpoly ..
so the angle between the different surfaces is very small, u dont have to care about triangulation...
btw, the result between subdivided quads and subdivided triangles is quite big...
i ll search on my hdd for some textures for u
