Not automatically as such ...
Depending on the model, there are some functions under the Vertex menu that are handy for closing gaps (the "Create..." functions), but it depends on the nature of your gaps.
Also, checking for edges lining up per MrSteve's suggestion/link is good if it isn't just an issue with an unclosed object.
