Well, what you need to understand is when texturing in any 3d program such as Ac3d, 3dstudiomax,cinema4 and the likes (uv-mapping that is for exporting and importing into another render) you need to tweak the materials in the prog you use to render it in. The uv-mapping dont contain any info on reflectivity and specularity and shinines. Not the right info anyway. So this is something you need to do inside the material editor in, as you are using now, Bryce. Here is a quicky I modeled and uv-mapped in Ac3d and rendered in Bryce. And I tweaked the mats.
