Default Re: Tapered boxes in second life

i find it to be hideous. maybe im missing something but this is what ive seen. if i want to make a taper on a box in ac3d i simply select one side reduce the size with the -10% button till i get the size i need. in sl i have to adjust the taper, not so hard but then i need to orient the object with no true accurate grid so i only seem to be able to eye ball it to get the right size then after toying with it for 10 minutes i get to spend 5 more trying to get it to line up... is there some reasorses im not utilizing in-game? i know how to snap to the grid but the grid seems to change from one object to the next so that also seems useless...
