I've been filling gaps by adding surfaces and I'm unsure when to choose ordered surface versus convex. For a totally flat surface "ordered" seems to be the obvious choice but in many cases either kind will do. By the same token, a rounded, bulging surface should be convex. Which are the exact criteria for choosing one or the other?
