Because you were asking about polycounts for this same model in a different thread, it may be worth noting that the subdivided model will contain many more polys.
For example, if you have one level of subdivision, a 4-sided poly (composed of 2 triangles) will be multiplied by 4. So, simply put, your 2 poly model becomes an 8 poly model when subdivisions are committed.
