You will get faster results by experimenting yourself. Try something simple like a table.Just do 1 table leg then copy and paste the other 3 then slide the top ( made from a cube)on checking all views. Simple.Also try the line tool, draw a curve then select it and use Object\Revolve around the y axis to see what happens.Thats how I made progress.
