Nope, he is refering to a orthographic views. This he can use to "trace" the image he wants to model.

A schematic shows all details of a model. Like the routing of conduits, wires, and plumbing.

Try a search on the types of ships you want to model. There is a ton of sites out there that has orthographic views of most vehicles.
