Default Re: Next generation AC3D

Here we go again, I'm still looking to get Collada exports, with animation.

At present this missing feature, is going to result in dropping AC3D as the tool of choice.

Which is a great shame as it is the best and most logical 3D tool around.

So if I set out some requirements, could a plug-in be built to enable true Collada export, with animations?

I know Lisa has the Collada technical specs, and may, repeat may like to tackle this area.

Requirements:

Basic animation, rotate and transition of objects, as per X-Planes plugin, exported in the Collada format. I'm not bothered with anything else.

So I see a parent like a wing, linked via a rotation to the child aileron. With rotational values being input as angles, in the respective plane.

Same for transitions, like a fuselage linked via a transition to a child canopy that slides back and forward by a specific value, in units.

If I could write programmes I'd do it myself, but I'm not even a basic programmer.
