Default Re: My first 3D CNC...Dennis's Gear

Hey Andy,

Actually, I convert the file to a .dxf.
Then I import it into my Cut3D program.
Vectric.com

Once imported into Cut3D, it figures out all the tool paths for both sides.

It does a rough cut, to cut away the excess, then it does a finishing cut to clean it all up.

I am into RC cars and motorcycles. I am designing (in AC3D) some rims and other stuff for my custom RC motorcycle.

I am still kinda new at the CNC stuff. I will post more pictures as I go. I plan on doing some more test stuff..Some example models from AC3D. One thing though...Cannot do any undercuts.

I can CNC them in aluminum or whatever. The gear was done in wax, then if one wanted to, you could cast it.

Done some modeling many years ago, (3D Studio, Imagine) just getting back into it.

AC3D is a super modeling program...Very easy to use...
