It would be nice if on the Surface -> Bevel command, we had an option to join "inner edges" of a selection so they didn't bevel apart.

For example, I have this shape:

Here's what I get when I bevel it:

I would like to be able to bevel it like this (I got this result be extruding it and manually repositioning the vertices to bevel it inward):

Just another "would-be-nice" for now. Something I could probably make a plugin for, actually, but didn't know if it was a great effort for Inivis to modify the existing bevel with an option...?
