after a bit of tinkering, it seems the surface line, if perfectly aligned at point zero of the x, y, or z grid just sort of vanishes as if there's something there masking it out of sight. if positioned anywhere else, the surface lines will actually show.

i'm also realizing i should had posted this in the bugs section of the forums. lol, sorry bout that. :P
