Re: Need Help UVing Please
OK, I'm not the best at UVing, but this is how I approached the problem:
- First I set all the surfaces to the same material (yours was already that way)
- Then I set all the surface to two-sided. I find it easier to work two sided, sometimes
- Then I chose a location for the seam. In this example I chose the bottom, but in your picture I might have picked under the piping on the side or top, assuming separate geometry.
- In surface mode, start selecting the surfaces in your seam. One surface in each segment, touching the previous surface.
- After you select a few, change their color (it makes them easier to select or deselect later)
- Choose "Edit -> Select Loop" or hit the lower case L. If your lucky, this will select all the seam surfaces.
- Change all the seam surfaces to the same color, a different color than the main tube. In the example file the seam is orange, and the tube is white
- Still in surface mode, choose "Select surfaces with the material" on the tube's white color
- Enter the Texture Coordinate Editor and hit the LSCM button.
- Adjust to taste.
