Could be but I think not... I wonder if my use of an ATI card, when so many others have gone the nVidia way, might play into it?

I apologize on the cross-post... I probably should have stuck to one thread. I will point out that a physical memory problem is not likely when several people have the same problem in the same fashion. I know from experience with other software that ATI does not produce the best OpenGL implementation in their drivers.
