One of the good things about AC3D is theres a few ways to tackle most things.
Another way to do a semi-sherical sunshade is.
Create sphere.
In Front view.
Vertex mode/select all vertex below centerline.
Press delete key.
In Side view.
Select vertex behind centerline.
Press delete key.
Select in object mode, name and click 2 sided. (change it's colour there too)
Later on you could get more complex but for now you're wise to first familiarise with the program.
