One thing that could be nice to have is the possibility with one click on an object in the hierarchy panel, to hide (or lock) all the other objects except itself (the selected object). And in that case, that object would automatically have the focus (no need to press ctrl+F (little shortcut that I like very much by the way)).

I'm not too sure how that could be implemented ... but that would be very handy for large scenes containing many objects.
