Default cockpit objects

I've got the panel texturing thing down I think except for one somewhat major problem. I have everything nicely texture and all in ac3d but when I open it up in the sim all the textures are all over the place. I mean they are kind of close to where I textured the parts from but other than that they are not even usable.

Now I've had problems before where the texture "moves" so to speak and it was when I couldn't get the engine nacelles right. Since I took them from planemaker and then modified them heavily the texture needed to come from the same spot that it would if I painted it in planemaker. But with this, that is not the case. The part is not taken from planemaker and it is a 1024x1024 image so there should be no problems. I've had problems with the 1024 thing before but I've got all that taken care of.

I'd really appreciate it if someone has had this happen to them before or something and knows how to fix it. There are two pictures. The first one is in ac3d, the second is in the sim.

By the way the maps are not just painted on they are actually modeled. Don't know if it makes a difference but it might.

I have a guess as to how this may happen. Maybe every individual instrument has to have it's own object as that seems the case on Heinz's P-51. I have painted 4 or 5 instruments on the same face. Not sure if it makes a difference, but just a suggestion.
