It's called, "Setting background images". You need to segment your auto graphic into at least 3 (up to 5) separate graphics, ensure their relative scale is identical, and then place them into the viewports. You don't need to create a cube to place the graphics onto, as you do in Max and other modelers. However, it helps to have a "bounding box" with the model's proper dimensions, as an aid to positioning and sizing the background images.
