Are you only new to AC3D, or new to 3D modeling in general?

If you're new to 3D modeling in general, I'd strongly recommend going through some more basic models, like the ones on the tutorials page. Modeling humans is a much more advanced topic over general modeling --- most tutorials on it assume you already have a very good working knowledge of 3D editing.
