Nice selection of static models here
As others have stated you've hit the sweet spot by employing clever texturing of fairly simple (low poly) models. Those who don't create for simulators and games may fail to recognize the importance of keeping background static objects low poly--it's all about allocating computer resources to the action and leave the background in the background. However, one might consider several versions of same static object and allow more complexity for those models that will be placed where you'll view them up close and far less detail for those models you'll just catch a glimpse of from a distance. For instance, one might elect to place a medium poly truck on the tarmac and use a very low poly version of a dilapidated truck being stranded away from the airport area. There's no point wasting computer resources on exquisite details that nobody will ever see--the idea is to get the basic shape right to create the right impression and you've certainly succeeded in doing so.
