(edit) it works now, the data ref i wanted to put was the one i used on my previous 707 version but for some reason ac3d added the word "none" to the beginning of the data ref. "nonesim/flightmodel/controls/slatrat" so i changed it back to "sim/flightmodel/controls/slatrat" and now it works.

i think it happened because when you cut and paste a data ref from another plane it adds the word "none" to the beginning for some reason.
