Re: White lines
If you start with a basic shape like a circle or ellipse and extrude it, you end up with two sets of surfaces: The extruded surfaces, and the original circle or ellipse as can be seen in the exploded view in figure 1.
If you select the surface defined by the white line as shown in figure2 and then click on Poly, the white line will disappear in the view straight on, but if you tilt the object as shown in figure 3, you can see that the white line is still there.
Instead, select the surface defined by the white line and then press the Delete key to delete it as shown in figure 4. All you wanted was the extruded surfaces that define the shape of the object. Once you have the extruded surfaces, the original circle or ellipse had served its purpose.
