lol, Titch ac3d is a modeler only, to create effects like this or snow and rain you'd have 2 options use a renderer like pov-ray, renderman, and etc. The other way is to use particles, hyper voxels and etc effects. AC3d currently doesn't have these effects if it did I would expect andy to sell ac3d for a little more than $49
Depending on your needs if it's for a game or something then your game engine should have particles implemented and you just make your textures with alpha channels and apply it to your particle emitter in your engine. If the need for fire is for stills then use povray, woody is the resident expert on pov-ray. In the mean time I'll see if I can hunt up a solution if it's for a still.
