Two Problems
Hi All
There are two problems I am seeing with my latest version none of which I cant work around. First if I fragment an object and then merge it again I dont seem to be able to smooth the object untill I have saved the model and reloaded it.Is there something I am missing. Secound running under windows 98se if I exit AC3D and try to restart the program without shutting the computer down then I get a "fatal error" crash and I have to do a forced shutdown of windows which leads to a disk scan on restart. The work around for this is to not shut down AC3D untill I am ready to shut the computer down or at least not restart AC3D untill I have done a reboot. Re: Two Problems
Hi,
I suppose that by "smooth the object" you mean "subdivide the object" ? What actions do you perform to subdivide it ? What happens when you try to do your subdivision ?

Re: Two Problems
Hi luuckyy
No I mean the shadding on the surfaces. If I fragment an object for what ever reason and then do a merge on the object the only shadding I get is flat untill I save and reload the model then I can select flat or smooth. It is not a great problem but just thought I may be doing something wrong. I've done a test with a sphere, fragmented it, merged all, optimized the vertices ... switched the object to smooth shading, selected a surface and the bottom AC3D window infos says "smooth", but visually the object is not smoothed.

Re: Two Problems
But I've just found the solution :
select your object, go to Tools/Object property editor (F9) and SET the crease angle back to something like 45 ...
