bend along a path
The 'extrude along a path' is quite a powerful tool, but it has the inherent drawback that by definition the cross-section stays the same along the whole path.
It would be utterly nice if a similar tool could be introduced where at each vertex of the leading path the cross-section could be specified by a pre-existent solid object. Think for instance of a cone or another pre-revolved object being 'spread n' bent' along a complicated path. Making tonet chairs, fine cast-iron railings, liberty handles and thousand other details could become a matter of a few minutes. |
