Helicopter
Hi. been away from modeling quite some time now due to life getting in the way the bad way. Now I'm easing my way into this ting called 3d again, hoping to be able to start modeling again. Here is a render of an old model I did back in the good ol days I am planing on sharing this model with you guys, but I dont have anyware to host it anymore, so I am hoping that either Andy could find it in his very big heart to host it on this site or anyone of you guys could host it. Zip is 4.2MB big. Its my original .ac file with textures I will share.
I see Ac3d is on version 7.5 now, and thought it would be fun to reflect that on the copter

Re: Helicopter
Thanks to Andy for hosting the model. What you see is what you get. The file is the .ac file with texture you see in the screengrab. Download and play around with it. And of course you will need Ac3d to play with it

Re: Helicopter
Here's a screenshot of your helicopter "Flying" in FlightGear 2.11
Any technical details available to help craft a flight model for it? Last edited by jentron; 23rd May 2015 at 03:44 PM. Reason: Fix attachement |

Re: Helicopter
Nice. I would recommend to hide the two red objects named "85grader" and "center canopy". They are only there to help with adjusting the canopy and landing gear. Just make them less wide so they are hidden inside the body. Or just delete if you dont need this function. Se screenshot.
I'm not sure what you mean for the technical details.

Re: Helicopter
Yes, I hadn't animated or grouped the canopy or main gear when I took that screen cap so I left the pivot points visible...
Did you intend the main landing gear to move forward or backwards? By technical details, I guess I was asking does this helicopter have a name? Is there a real life example, or is it strictly imaginary? If its imaginary, does it have some kind of back story? Thanks for sharing it, btw. |

Re: Helicopter
Well, I actually havent made my mind up if the gear should go back or forward yet. Whatever looks best I guess
The copter is all imaginary, but I was inspired by the cg movie" Bolt". There is a copter there, so this is my take on it. I think mine got less military than the ones in the movie Picture below from the movie Bolt
