Texture Loader Problem
I organized my folders so there was a folder in AC3D 6.1 called My Models, and one called Textures, because I have so many textures it would be really hard to get to stuff in the folder if they were all in the same place. When I texture a model in My Models, then save it and try to open it, I get this error, then the texture on my object dissapears.
I think it's because the textures are in a differient folder or somthing. Is there a way to tell it where to load textures from? |

Re: Texture Loader Problem
Hmmm. I don't think that's it. I keep each model in it's own folder, and then the textures in different subfolder all the time.
What are your texture files named? Do your textures have a file extension? (.tga, .jpg, etc.) The pop-up looks like a parse error, as if the files are named without an extension. |

Re: Texture Loader Problem
Well the thing is, the textures load correctly when they are in the same folder or somthing, but my pics are all 24-bitmap (.bmp) but the extension isn't in the name, thats just what type of file it is.

Re: Texture Loader Problem
Weird. I don't know.
The only reason I was thinking problem with the file name, is the ".1\textures" part of the error, which would be the last thing after the period if there was no extension. ie. If you named your file "texture" instead of "texture.bmp", even though it was a bitmap. Most windows users seem to have "show file extensions" turned off, so you may not be able to tell if you're using windows. --Still wouldn't explain why it would work with the same file in the same folder though. What operating system are you using? |

Re: Texture Loader Problem
Could this be a problem with the filenames or folders containing non-ascii characters?

Re: Texture Loader Problem
Hi Guys
I have finished a model, loaded a texture and fitted the surfaces to that texture and when I have gone back to it, I cannot load the texture. In fact I cannot load and see in the TCE any textures. I expect I am doing something wrong somewhere. Heeeeelp:roll: Best Regards Keith Sweeting |

Re: Texture Loader Problem
Hi guys, i just set my computer up in the way you have explained above, and i got the same message even though i have been happily texturing my models for a long time, i suggest you try this. I might sound insane but its the only i fixed the problem.
Move your "Textures" folder out of AC3D 6.2 folder in programs and keep them somewhere else i.e my documents. texture the model again and save it and try to open again. let me know the results. Good Luck!
