Re: i'm starting at Ac3D and wonder about axes
I believe the axis widget is a DISPLAY SCREEN-level object, and is not tied to any one object or group on the orth or 3D display.
This makes sense because objects within a scene will never have different axis orientations in relation to the others. You can, however, toggle on and off your axis indicator on any screen, and make it bigger or smaller: In both the Orth and 3D menus, you'll find Show Axis or Show Axis Guides commands. These are toggle-able: click it to make the check mark appear in the menu... and the axis widget should appear in the window. Under File > Settings... and on the 3D View tab of that pop-up menu, you'll see you can change the size of the the widget with 3D Axis size.

Re: i'm starting at Ac3D and wonder about axes
thank you very much Sir for your help,
for the system of axes tied to objects this is used in mechanic studies where the object's tied system of axes is in motion while the reference axes are motionless. Now ,i'm wondering how to move the widget of axes in order to display it on an object is it possible? Thanks for answering in advance |

Re: i'm starting at Ac3D and wonder about axes
No, that's not possible. The viewport axis widgets are reference axes ONLY.
I think what you're looking for is setting animation axes, so that your gears or whatever rotate around specific axis orientations? If so, locate and download the X-Plane plug in. That has some tools for creating and previewing very basic animations, and for providing some visual cues for "hinge lines" and "rotational axes".
