ac3d->gmax->msfs ??
Hi,
Has anyone ever taken ac3d models into gmax or 3dsmax in order to create models for microsoft flight simulator? I'm finding gmax/3dsmax a tough cookie to crack in terms of UI (too used to AC3D!) (and their background bitmaps are just silly....and wheres the interactive drag handles for sizing???!!!) so I'd much prefer to carry on using ac3d for the geometry and gmax for all the msfs specific bits (animation, materials etc etc....) Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers Coanda |

Re: ac3d->gmax->msfs ??
You can export the models out of AC3D as .3DS and import then in gmax. Hope, that helps.
Edit: After import in gmax, do a right click on the model and go to down to "convert To" and do a "convert to poly". After that do a "convert a mesh" to convert back. It's because the 3DS-export of AC3D isn't that perfect and you will not see the model in the orth-views without this little trick BTW: It's similar in TurboCad and so on: You cannot see the unrendered models without little tricks Last edited by frimi; 19th February 2007 at 04:45 AM. |
