Stiglr made some great video of building a detailed aircraft in AC3D. He uses some advanced techniques. Best to read the AC3D manual first
Warning the files are large and you'll need a program to unrar them - see: http://www.targetware.net/modules.ph...ewtopic&t=4970 |

Hi,
Can you give an example or two of functions that aren't covered well in the manual? |

Ozzy,
If you're interested, email me at allendkrsn@yahoo.com and we can perhaps work out a way for me to burn you a copy of my tutorials on CD. They are totally AIRCRAFT centric, but they will show you some basic concepts along the way. The thing is, there are a wealth of tutorials on the web about basic 3D modeling concepts that apply to AC3D as well as other programs, albeit the commands, menu choices, etc. will be slightly different. I made my tutorials chiefly because when I was in your shoes, totally new and totally lost I wanted to build flight sim aircraft, and lacked the basis in BASIC 3D MODELING CONCEPTS to be able to understand how to translate a tutorial on, say, characters or buildings, into creating wings and fuselages. Anyway, my offer stands if you're interested. ======================= By the way, I feel the manual is a pretty good one; you should be able to have a copy in hand, and just start messing around with the interface and "get it" pretty quick... but it does help to have some knowledge of those BASIC 3D MODELING CONCEPTS first.

the tutorials
I tried to download the tutorials but it couldn't make a connection with the host. Should I just try again later? Are the links still good?
I would really like to improve my modeling and watching is a good way for me to learn. Thanks Gary |

Ok so I'm making a car model, and now im texturing it. I got the sides done, but how do i texture the front? When I clack remap side, it chooses the front but gets rid of the texture on the side. btw The textures for the fornt and the side are on diffrent pics.
