The "Caddy" in Second Life is called a Primouth Series 70. I'm a huge fan of the car and was able to do it justice with this program. Er - I hope so anyway
![]() The "1949 Mercury" is a Primouth something, I haven't named it yet or finished it. It's about halfway done now. Both cars are almost completely built with sculpts. I use a few standard prims for some parts but that is becoming more and more rare. Major parts of the Merc are single sculpts. It works out perfect I get the curves I want with less prims so I can use those prims to do more detail work on the dashes, etc. ![]() |

Very nice work, great shape and form.
Would you consider writing up a tutorial on how you get to such a great model?

Thank you for the compliments. As far as a tutorial goes that probably won't happen. For a few reasons, all the tools I use are ac3d and SL building tools. There are already tutorials out there for both programs. Another reason is I can't really explain how I do it, I just start building and they take shape. I use the wheels and headlights for perspective and just start making the body parts. Each part takes a few uploads to sl before I like the fit.
Honestly I have no idea how many polys they are. |

Thank you!
Off the top of my head the caddy is about 210 prims. The Merc is 56 so far. I'm managing to make them lower and lower prim. The Merc is my third car I've built using AC3D so heavily. |
