PLUGIN: Poser Morph Target support
All,
I've written a new plugin that allows you to use AC3D to edit Morph Targets for Curious Labs' Poser application. Find it at: http://supercoldmilk.com/ac3dplug/pmt.html This is a Windows plugin. As with all plugins here, all source is available --- if someone wants to convert this to work on Macs, I'll be glad to provide any assistance. See all of my AC3D plugins at: http://supercoldmilk.com/ac3dplug/index.html Dennis UPDATE 2005/10/16 : # Fixed bug in OBJ writer where material filename was being improperly specified. Materials now reload from targets saved as OBJ files. # Materials are added in such a way that duplicates are ignored. |

Re: PLUGIN: Poser Morph Target support
I modified the code a bit and got it to compile under Linux.
I noticed a couple of problems with pmt: 1. It crashes if the import obj contains normals. Poser sometimes adds them to the morph target it spawns. I have a work-around sed one-liner to delete the normals: sed '/^vn/d /^f/ s|\([0-9]*\)/\([0-9]*\)/\([0-9]*\)|\1/\2|g' 2. It would be great if it wrote out textures (vt), too, so I could continue working on a textured model on re-import, or so I could remap parts. 3. I have one model that loads fine normally, and in other programs, but pmt collapses one group (third of 3) into 0,0,0 |

Re: PLUGIN: Poser Morph Target support
Dennis,
I sat down this morning and fixed my issues 1 and 3 with some modest changes to cobj.cpp I realized it never loads texture coordinates, either, so I'm looking at adding support both ways for that. I also discovered if there is no material file pmt crashes ac3d with an exception. Are you interested in getting my changes back? Thanks, Ron |
