using textures to render brickwork
I have some brickwork that I have a photograph of and have been able to crop a small section of the bricks into a file for use as a texture image. The problem is, the texture layout seems to tile the image in a simplistic way such that I get blocks that are not staggered the way that bricks are. The result looks very artificial.
Is there a better way to do this? I'd prefer to be able to work within AC3D if possible! Thanks. |

select each side then pick surface and remap coords on each surface (making sure the side you map is facing you in the view you choose)
by default most parts tile but selecting it and changing the coords will change this.

A tiling texture image is the key - some of the images on here should give you an idea of what you need:
http://www.grsites.com/textures/brick001.shtml There are plenty more out there too. Also, you may find Dennis' plugin useful, see: http://www.ac3d.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=199 Andy |
